The Jericho Brass, Chattanooga's own British Style Brass Band

Euphoniums and Trombones

The Jericho Brass Spring 1999

With assistance from The Salvation Army in providing initial leadership and practice resources, The Jericho Brass was formed in the summer of 1998. The membership consists of brass instrument players from the Chattanooga area under the leadership of Mr. Dan Bowles, Conductor; and Mr. Frank Hale, Associate Conductor.

As the name implies, brass bands employ no strings or woodwinds. The basic instrumentation of the British-style band consists of Bb and Eb cornets, flugel horn, Eb alto horns, euphoniums, baritone horns, trombones, tubas, and percussion.

The Salvation Army holds the world's largest collection of music for brass bands, and The Jericho Brass is fortunate to have access to this collection as well as to other music resources.
